Martin Morece Johnson, a 27-year-old resident of Cleveland, Ohio, tragically lost his life on January 18, 2024. The incident occurred near the intersection of East 95th Street and Pratt Avenue in Cleveland. When police officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Johnson lying on his front lawn with a gunshot wound to his abdomen. He was immediately transported to a local hospital, where he was unfortunately pronounced dead.
Following an investigation into the shooting, authorities identified 29-year-old Daryl Patton as a suspect in Johnson's murder. A warrant was subsequently issued for Patton's arrest on charges of aggravated murder. Law enforcement officials learned that Patton had fled Ohio in an attempt to evade capture.
The U.S. Marshals Service, specifically the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, developed information indicating that Patton had traveled to Las Vegas, Nevada. On November 21, 2024, members of the Nevada Violent Offender Task Force successfully apprehended Patton at an apartment located in the 3900 block of Cambridge Street in Las Vegas. The arrest was made without incident, demonstrating the collaborative efforts of law enforcement agencies across state lines.
