On February 19, 2024, Carlos DeJesus Godineaux, a 26-year-old resident of Akron, Ohio, was shot and killed in a tragic incident that has drawn significant attention from law enforcement and the community. The shooting occurred on Bellevue Avenue near Diagonal Road in Akron's Sherbondy Hill neighborhood. Godineaux was reportedly in the area to sell shoes that he had advertised on Facebook Marketplace when he was attacked.
