Davis was discovered inside his postal van with a gunshot wound after being targeted by a suspect in another vehicle. Witness accounts revealed that a dark gray pickup truck pulled alongside Davis's postal van, and a passenger fired several shots into the vehicle. Following the shooting, Davis managed to drive a short distance before crashing near the intersection of Olive Street and Scott Street. Both men were charged with murder for their roles in Davis's death, specifically for killing a federal officer and using a firearm during a violent crime. They entered not guilty pleas during their arraignment and are currently awaiting trial. The U.S. Postal Inspection Service has offered a reward for information leading to their apprehension, emphasizing that the suspects should be considered armed and dangerous.
