In the course of the investigation, authorities identified a 16-year-old male as a person of interest. This individual had reportedly made threats to shoot unspecified individuals at an undisclosed school, prompting local schools to close on March 18 as a precautionary measure. The police were able to apprehend the suspect early on March 18 after a traffic stop related to a stolen vehicle led to a pursuit. The suspect ultimately lost control of the vehicle and crashed before fleeing on foot but was taken into custody shortly thereafter.
