On June 11, 2024, James Dominick Macarrios O'Neal, a 24-year-old resident of Columbus, Ohio, was shot and killed in a violent incident on the Southeast Side of the city. Columbus police received reports of gunfire at approximately 1:20 p.m. and arrived at the scene on Chatterton Road to find O'Neal suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
