On June 28, 2024, 18-year-old Gary Lamar Dancy Jr., affectionately known as "Gee," was fatally shot in Cleveland, Ohio. The incident occurred shortly after 9:15 p.m. on Talford Avenue in the Lee-Miles neighborhood. Responding officers found Dancy with multiple gunshot wounds; he was transported to University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
At the time of his death, Dancy was walking to his residence in the 16700 block of Talford Avenue.

Dancy was a recent graduate of Maple Heights High School, having previously studied Architecture and Science design at John Hay High School.
