On July 13, 2024, at approximately 9:50 a.m., Cleveland police responded to reports of a shooting near West 73rd Street and Colgate Court. Upon arrival, officers found 36-year-old Stephen Coon lying in an alley with a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Following the incident, authorities identified 21-year-old Le’ceeonna White as a suspect.
According to the Cleveland Division of Police, White allegedly shot Coon in the back as he attempted to flee. On October 5, 2024, members of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested White in Sandusky, Ohio. She was taken into custody without incident and charged with aggravated murder.
Coon, born on February 8, 1988, was a skilled handyman specializing in roofing, drywall, and siding. He was the beloved companion of Destiney Barb and a devoted father to Aries Coon, Allison Douglas, and Alissa Douglas. Known for his humor and love of making people laugh, he enjoyed creating TikTok and YouTube videos. His jovial spirit and commitment to his loved ones are deeply missed by all who knew him.
The Cleveland Division of Police continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding Coon's death. Authorities encourage anyone with additional information to come forward to assist in the ongoing investigation.
