On March 3, 2023, 17-year-old Benjamin Rios Archuleta was fatally shot while traveling on Interstate 25 near Las Cruces, New Mexico. New Mexico State Police responded to reports of a shooting near milepost 8 on I-25. They found Archuleta in a vehicle with gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
