In the quiet town of Deming, New Mexico, the evening of August 21, 2023, was shattered by violence that claimed the life of 34-year-old Saul Montes, a Hispanic/Latino male. The Deming Police Department received a call reporting shots fired at the La Paloma Del Sol Apartments, located near the intersection of Santa Monica and Birch streets.
