On the evening of September 19, 2020, in the small city of Deming, New Mexico, a chaotic and violent encounter tragically cut short the life of 36-year-old Hispanic male, Roland Valenzuela. The incident, which unfolded on West First Street, began with an argument between Valenzuela and the father of a young man named Patricio "Patrick" Martinez. This verbal dispute quickly escalated into a brief but deadly exchange of gunfire.
