On June 21, 2024, 53-year-old Nathan Romero was found dead in his home on Hermosa Drive in Las Vegas, New Mexico, the victim of a fatal shooting. Responding officers from the Las Vegas Police Department discovered his body after reports of gunfire in the area. Concurrently, New Mexico State Police observed a vehicle leaving the vicinity and conducted a traffic stop, identifying the driver as 29-year-old Elijah Martinez.
