On May 23, 2023, 30-year-old Roy Tuando was fatally shot in his Las Vegas residence during a confrontation with his nephew, 42-year-old Steven McLucas. The incident occurred in the 1600 block of Nesting Way, near East Owens Avenue and Marion Drive. Tuando's employer requested a welfare check after he failed to report to work for two days. Responding officers found Tuando deceased in his locked bedroom, seated on the floor with a wound to his left shoulder.
