In the late summer of 2017, the life of a three-week-old Hispanic baby girl named Aniya Carroll-Flores was tragically cut short. On September 21, 2017, in Phoenix, Arizona, the Department of Child Safety received a report that the infant had been brought to a hospital with a severe head injury. Despite medical efforts, Aniya passed away two days later, on September 23, 2017. Her death was later determined to be the result of abuse or neglect.
