In the late evening of Sunday, April 23, 2023, the life of 18-year-old Trevon Malik Bowman, a Black/African American male from Brooklyn Park, was tragically cut short. Just before 9 p.m., officers were dispatched to a shooting on Unity Avenue North in Brooklyn Center. Upon arrival, they discovered Bowman lying in the street, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
He was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for emergency medical care.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Trevon Malik Bowman succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office later confirmed that the cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds and officially ruled the manner of death as a homicide.
