On December 12, 2023, a fatal shooting occurred at Camp Nenookaasi, a homeless encampment in Minneapolis. The victim, 45-year-old Tyrone Joseph Mohr, was found inside a tent with multiple gunshot wounds around 5:15 p.m. Despite efforts to revive him, he was pronounced dead at Hennepin County Medical Center.

Authorities arrested a suspect near the encampment shortly after the incident. The Hennepin County Attorney's Office later determined that the shooting was in self-defense, stating th ...
