On a Monday morning in Minneapolis, the life of Ricardo Samuel Pena Martinez, a 31-year-old Hispanic male, was tragically cut short. At approximately 9:27 a.m. on November 20, 2023, police responded to reports of a shooting in a parking lot behind 1900 Chicago Avenue South. There they found Martinez with a life-threatening gunshot wound to his back. He was rushed to Hennepin County Medical Center, where, despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at 10:08 a.m.
