On March 27, 2024, 41-year-old Sarah Fay Gordon, a Caucasian female, was found deceased in a parked SUV in a retail area of Blaine, Minnesota. Alongside her in the vehicle was the body of Daniel Joseph Seman, 66. Both individuals appeared to have sustained fatal gunshot wounds.
Authorities responding to the scene indicated that they were not actively seeking any suspects in connection with the deaths and that there was no apparent threat to the public.
This has led to speculation that the incident may have been a murder-suicide. A firearm was recovered from within the vehicle. The Anoka County Sheriff's Office and the Midwest Medical Examiner's Office are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the deaths, but an official cause and manner of death have not yet been released.
In a separate and initially confusing development on the same day, the home that Gordon and Seman shared was found ransacked. It was reported that approximately 50 firearms were missing from the residence. Investigators discovered a broken basement window and a forced-open gun room door. However, the Blaine Police Department later concluded that this incident was a civil matter and not related to the deaths of Gordon and Seman. They suggested that someone with rightful access to the property may have retrieved the items.
Sarah Gordon was born on April 24, 1982, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and later moved to Minneapolis. In 2011, she founded her own security company, SGI Security Co. She was remembered by friends and family for her warm smile, laughter, and her love for her German Shepherds.
