On a Monday afternoon in Topeka, Kansas, the life of 39-year-old Brandon M. Drew, a Black/African American male, was tragically cut short. On May 15, 2023, just after 2 p.m., police responded to a call of a shooting in the 3500 block of SW Kerry Avenue. Upon arrival, first responders discovered Drew with a life-threatening gunshot wound. He was quickly transported to a local hospital for treatment, but he succumbed to his injuries later that day.
