On June 23, 2023, 16-year-old JaMarcus Dewayne Lane Jr. was found fatally shot inside a residence in the 3100 block of West Barker Circle in Kansas City, Kansas. Officers from the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department responded to the scene around 2:40 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered the teenager deceased with apparent gunshot wounds.
