On July 27, 2023, 21-year-old Bryan Lara-Hernandez and his girlfriend, 20-year-old Josephina Lerma-Dominguez, were found deceased in a vehicle in Wichita's Old Town parking garage. A street sweeper discovered their bodies around 3:43 a.m., both having suffered fatal gunshot wounds.
