In the late hours of November 6, 2024, a burst of gunfire shattered the nighttime quiet in a north Wichita neighborhood, tragically ending the life of 48-year-old Deanna Garcia, a White/Caucasian female. Garcia and her 49-year-old husband were in their home in the 2300 block of North Mascot, preparing for bed around 11 p.m., when the unexpected violence erupted. Multiple gunshots were fired into their residence from the outside, striking both occupants.
