Alonzo Cedric Jackson, born on June 12, 1972, in New Orleans, Louisiana, was the son of the late John A. Jackson Jr. and Sedonia Robinson Jackson. He was baptized at Rising Star Baptist Church in the Pigeon Town neighborhood by Rev. Adams and later became an active choir member at St. Mark's United Methodist Church on Rampart Street, under Pastor Ed Cooper's leadership.
