In the early hours of January 18, 2023, the quiet of Crossover Road in Independence, Louisiana, was shattered by the sound of gunshots. When deputies from the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office arrived, they found 41-year-old Jason Addison, a male resident of Independence, lying motionless on the ground with a gunshot wound. He was rushed to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries the following day, on January 19, 2023.
