On April 1, 2023, 31-year-old Angel Leanne Thompson Smith was found deceased in her Slidell, Louisiana, home, the victim of an apparent murder-suicide. Authorities reported that a child called 911 to report their parents were bleeding and unresponsive. The alleged shooter, identified as 31-year-old Rico Akeem Jones Keller Sr., was also found dead at the scene.
