In the early morning hours of Sunday, April 2, 2023, the quiet of Garyville, Louisiana, was shattered by an act of violence that claimed the life of 19-year-old Javant Dunn. A male resident of Greensburg, Louisiana, Dunn was discovered unresponsive on the ground outside a residence in the 200 block of South Emilie Street at approximately 3:30 a.m. Deputies from the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff's Office responded to the scene and found that Dunn had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
