On April 2, 2023, 19-year-old Javant Dunn of Garyville, Louisiana, was found deceased from a gunshot wound outside a residence on South Emilie Street in Garyville. The St. John Parish Sheriff's Office reported that deputies discovered Dunn's body around 3:30 a.m. At the time, authorities had not identified a motive or suspect in connection with his death.
