In the small community of Garyville, Louisiana, a tragedy unfolded on the afternoon of January 24, 2025, forever altering the lives of those involved. Michael Johnson Jr., an 18-year-old male, was found with a fatal gunshot wound in the 200 block of Sherman Walker Street. St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the scene shortly before 3 p.m., but despite their efforts, Johnson was pronounced dead upon their arrival.
