In the spring of 2023, the life of 21-year-old Joshua L. Chism, a Black male, was tragically cut short in Natchitoches, Louisiana. On the morning of April 12th, police responded to a call of a shooting at an apartment on the 100 block of North Melrose Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered Chism inside, suffering from a single gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of first responders, he was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Natchitoches Parish Coroner's Office.
