Devanta Tremon Matthews, a 28-year-old male, was fatally shot in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The incident occurred on the night of Thursday, May 18, 2023, just before 10:20 p.m..

Matthews was found dead in a parking garage near Louisiana State University (LSU), prompting the Baton Rouge Police Department (BRPD) to respond to the scene. The coroner was called to the location to handle the situation.
