On May 24, 2023, Marco Dillon, a 38-year-old resident of Kentwood, Louisiana, lost his life to gun violence. The incident occurred outside Backroad 40, a bar located on Hwy 1051 between Kentwood and the Village of Tangipahoa. Deputies from the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a shooting around 9:30 PM and found Dillon suffering from a gunshot wound. He was immediately transported to Hood Memorial Hospital by ambulance but succumbed to his injuries.
