A sense of celebration on the Fourth of July in 2023 tragically turned to violence at a block party in Shreveport, Louisiana, resulting in the death of 19-year-old Jarike Dorsey and three others. The gathering, held in the Martin Luther King neighborhood, was shattered by gunfire just before midnight, sending attendees fleeing in panic. When the chaos subsided, Dorsey and Moriz Aziz, 22, were found deceased at the scene.
