On July 22, 2023, Barry Roussel, a 67-year-old resident of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, was fatally shot at the Albany Tourist Information Center located along Catholic Hall Road off Interstate 12. The incident occurred around 4 p.m. following a domestic-related fight.
