In the late hours of a summer Sunday, the life of 30-year-old Joseph Harris Jr. was tragically cut short. On August 6, 2023, the man from Gretna, Louisiana, found himself in the parking lot of a Waffle House in Terrytown, a community just across the Mississippi River from New Orleans. It was there that the sound of gunfire shattered the night, and Harris became the victim of a fatal shooting.
