In the early evening of January 3, 2024, a deadly encounter unfolded at the Boulevard Apartment Homes in Gretna, Louisiana, resulting in the death of 39-year-old Jhonas Armando Garcia Carbajal of Terrytown. What began as a rekindling of communication after several months of silence between Garcia Carbajal and Patricia Lopez-Melgar, a woman with whom he had an intermittent affair, ended in his violent demise.
