In the early morning hours of September 26, 2023, a chilling 911 call pierced the quiet of Ponchatoula, Louisiana. On the other end of the line was 19-year-old Johnathan Payne Kliebert, confessing to the murder of his mother, 46-year-old Ashley Kliebert, a white female. He informed the dispatcher that he was at a local hospital, waiting to turn himself in.

Johnathan, and the family's residence on Sisters Road. At the home, they discovered a tragic scene. Ashley Kliebert was found in her master bedroom, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head as she slept. Lying beside her was her dog, also shot and killed.
During his interview with investigators, Johnathan Kliebert provided a grim account of the events that transpired. He stated that he had woken up in an 'angry state,' at which point he retrieved a shotgun and entered his mother's bedroom. There, he shot and killed both his mother and her dog as they lay in bed.
Following his confession, Johnathan Kliebert was arrested and booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail. He faces a slate of serious charges, including first-degree murder, armed robbery, cruelty to animals, and aggravated crimes against nature.
