In the quiet early morning hours of October 7, 2023, tragedy struck on U.S. Highway 167 in Jackson Parish, Louisiana. Devontre’ Dee Jackson, a 30-year-old man from Quitman, was driving his vehicle when gunfire erupted, fatally wounding him. A female passenger in the front seat was also injured in the attack.
