In the early morning hours of Friday, December 1, 2023, the community of Port Allen, Louisiana, was disturbed by a grim discovery at William & Lee Park on Louisiana Avenue. A man, later identified as 51-year-old Ronnie C. Moore, was found deceased inside a blue car around 7 a.m. An investigation by the Port Allen Police Department, with assistance from the West Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office, quickly determined that Moore had been shot.
The investigation into the death of Ronnie Moore, a
male known to many as 'Cosmo,' led authorities to identify 36-year-old Alexis Allen as a suspect. Investigators learned that Allen had allegedly been with a group of people at the park when she got into an argument with Moore. The altercation escalated, culminating in Allen allegedly shooting Moore while he was seated in his car. It was also revealed that there was a history of domestic issues between the two, with Allen having a pending domestic violence charge for allegedly hitting Moore with her car at a prior date.
Following the incident, the Port Allen Police Department issued a warrant for Alexis Allen's arrest on a charge of second-degree murder. The search for Allen concluded when she turned herself in to the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office. She was subsequently taken into the custody of the West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office to face the murder charge.
