In what should have been the quiet of their Blanchard home, Roderick Keith McKnight, a 64-year-old male, and his wife Kathleen, 62, were found slain on April 19, 2024. The couple had been fatally shot the day prior, their lives abruptly ended by an act of violence that would soon point to a familial connection. The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office was called to the residence to perform a welfare check, leading to the grim discovery of their bodies and the immediate launch of a homicide
investigation.
The investigation quickly zeroed in on their 27-year-old son, Michael Keith McKnight. Authorities began a search for the younger McKnight, who was soon considered a person of interest in the deaths of his parents.
