On June 2, 2024, 34-year-old Brandon Washington of Westwego, Louisiana, was found deceased from gunshot wounds inside a residence on Coretta Drive in Avondale. The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office responded to the scene around 5:30 p.m., discovering both Washington and 49-year-old Marcus Magee, also of Westwego, unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene.
