On the night of August 17, 2024, 22-year-old African American male Antoine Bowie was fatally shot while driving northbound on Interstate 110 near the Government Street exit in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Around midnight, another vehicle pulled alongside Bowie's car and opened fire, striking both him and his passenger. Antoine Bowie died at the scene from his injuries, while his passenger sustained a gunshot wound to the face and was transported to a local hospital, where he was expected to survive.
