On November 12, 2024, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a welfare check at a residence on Topsy Road in Lake Charles, Louisiana, after a caller reported a possible ongoing hostage situation. Upon arrival, deputies attempted to enter the residence and heard a gunshot, prompting the response of the CPSO ACT-Team.
