In the late hours of a Sunday night in Lexington, Kentucky, the sound of gunfire shattered the peace on Florence Avenue. in the early morning hours, the investigation took a grim turn when police received another call reporting a gunshot victim outside a house on the same block. There, they found 19-year-old Jalen Henderson. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:15 a.m. from a gunshot wound. The Fayette County Coroner's Office officially ruled his death a homicide, marking the city's eighth homicide of the year.

Authorities stated that it was likely Henderson and the injured minor were shot during the same incident.
