In the pre-dawn hours of August 27, 2023, the life of 26-year-old Malik Sleet, a Black male from Lexington, Kentucky, was tragically cut short by gunfire. The fatal incident unfolded in a parking lot situated in the 900 block of Winchester Road. Officers from the Lexington Police Department were dispatched to the scene just before 4:00 a.m. following reports of a shooting.
