In the Park Hill neighborhood of Louisville, a life was tragically cut short on the afternoon of March 30, 2024. Dominique Dudley, a 29-year-old male, was inside the Farm Boy convenience store on West Oak Street when he was shot multiple times. The incident occurred around 2:15 p.m., and despite any efforts to save him, Dudley died at the scene. The Jefferson County Coroner's office later confirmed his identity.
The investigation into the shooting led the Louisville Metro Police
Department to a suspect. In May 2024, a Jefferson County Grand Jury returned an indictment for 33-year-old Marcus McGinnis. The charges brought against him were murder, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, and first-degree wanton endangerment. At the time of the indictment, McGinnis was already in federal custody on unrelated charges.
Dominique Rashan Dudley was remembered by his family and friends. He was a father, son, and brother, leaving behind his son, parents, and a brother, along with a host of other relatives and friends who mourned his sudden and violent passing. His funeral services were held in early April to honor his memory.
