Born on November 6, 1990, in West Palm Beach, Florida, Justin had made a life for himself in Louisville, where many knew him as 'Florida' or 'Jay.' His vibrant and outgoing personality left a lasting impression on those who knew him, who remember him as a man with a pure heart.
The events leading to his death unfolded on September 1, 2024, when he became a
victim of gun violence in the Shelby Park neighborhood. The shooting ultimately claimed his life, with his official date of passing recorded as September 2, 2024. The news of his violent death sent ripples through the community and his circle of family and friends.
In the aftermath of the shooting, an investigation was launched, leading to the arrest of a suspect, Cody Hedrick. Hedrick was subsequently charged with murder in connection with Justin's death and was held on a $1 million bond.
