In the early evening of September 8, 2024, the life of 33-year-old Charles Watkins Jr., a Black male, was tragically cut short in Louisville, Kentucky. Responding to reports of a shooting at approximately 7:40 p.m., Louisville Metro Police arrived in the area of West Oak and Dr. W.J. Hodge streets, near the Park Hill neighborhood, to a grim discovery. There on the sidewalk, outside a home, lay Charles Watkins Jr., who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
