Sherry, who was born on October 7, 1970, in Petersburg, VA, was the daughter of Harold Grant McLean Sr. and Linda Fay King Tucker. On that fateful day, Sherry and her 20-year-old daughter, Bridgette Nicole Burford, were found shot and killed at their home in Gibsonville.

The suspect in this double murder was identified as 24-year-old Camiah Tylequis Walker. Walker, who was the father of Sherry's granddaughter, was taken into custody at the Red Carpet Inn in Burlington after an anonymous tip led authorities to his location. He was charged with two counts of first-degree murder, one count of felony violation of a domestic violence protective order with a deadly weapon, and one count of misdemeanor violation of a domestic violence protective order. Walker was held in the Caswell County Detention Facility without bond, and investigators expected additional charges to be filed.
