In the late afternoon of a Friday in Louisville, Kentucky, 18-year-old Jerrick Dewayne Lamont Young, Jr., an African-American male and a recent graduate of Seneca High School, walked out of a food mart on Dixie Highway. It was September 13, 2024, and the events that unfolded in the moments after he exited the store would tragically cut his young life short.
