On September 29, 2024, a tragic incident occurred at Pleasure Ridge Park High School in Louisville, Kentucky, resulting in the death of 17-year-old Aaron Esters Jr. The shooting took place in the school's parking lot during a football game, where Esters was fatally injured. He succumbed to his injuries nine days later in the hospital, as confirmed by the Jefferson County Coroner's Office.
