Aleah Noelle Aaron was a fiery, spunky, and free-spirited 25-year-old Caucasian woman who loved music, crystals, nature, and her dog, Delilah. Her life was tragically cut short in the spring of 2023 in southern Oregon, where she was a resident of Cave Junction.
The events began to unfold on March 30, 2023, when the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office received a report that Aleah was missing.
The Oregon State Police Major Crimes Section was asked to lead the investigation into her disappearance. The search ended in heartbreak when investigators found Aleah’s deceased body in a rural area of Josephine County, not far from her home.
The investigation quickly led to an arrest. On April 2, 2023, police took 35-year-old Thomas Robert Fuerte of O’Brien, Oregon, into custody in connection with her death. Fuerte told investigators that he and Aleah were in his trailer when she reached for his gun. He claimed he thought she wanted to take her own life and that she was shot twice as he intervened. Fuerte was lodged in the Josephine County Jail on initial charges of murder and abuse of a corpse.
For more than two years, Aleah’s loved ones waited for justice. On April 8, 2025, a jury found Thomas Robert Fuerte guilty of her murder. He was convicted on charges of first-degree murder, rape, sodomy, second-degree abuse of a corpse, and unlawful use of a weapon. With the verdict, her murderer was set to live behind bars for a very long time. As of April 2025, justice for Aleah Aaron had been served.
