On December 18, 2023, a homicide investigation was launched by the Tigard Police Department after a man was found shot to death in a car parked outside the Washington Square mall in Tigard, Oregon. The victim, identified as 29-year-old Ediel Ernesto Apodaca-Sandoval, was from the Salem area.
